Baby Announcements

I've got my baby announcements done - now all they need is a baby and her information and I can mail them out! I'd post what they look like, but, well, you'll just have to wait for yours in the mail. :)

First Digital Attempt

I downloaded a couple free digital kits and decided to try my hand at a digital LO this morning. I don't like it nearly as much as I like my "real" LO - and I may have to print this out and add "real" elements to give it texture. It's just too flat in my opinion. But, at least I tried, right? Anyway- it's my first attempt...

Lazy Day!

I hearby declare today to be LAZY DAY! I will do whatever I feel like and nothing else! =) We're going to see Shakespeare's Love's Labors Lost tonight, so that will be fun. And I will just relax until then. Have yourself a lazy day, too!

Flowers!

My latest creative endeavor (though my husband had to implement most of it, I have to admit) has been putting in a perennial flower garden in our back yard, off the deck. We had 5 rose bushes out there already, so we decided to expand the area to put in a cut flower garden. Leif built steps and put in some stepping stones. We also planted another rose bush, a poppy plant, daisy plant, Lewisia, and two lupines. I was so pleased to find that one of the poppies had bloomed this morning! It's beautiful!

I also planted some vegetables - tomatoes and peppers. And last night a friend gave us a couple strawberry plants (yay!!) and some white flowering ground cover, so those will be added to the garden this evening, hopefully. I've never been much for gardening, but have wanted some vegetables, strawberries, and flowers for some time. I've had an iris bed for a few years and it seems to be doing well, so I'm trying my hand at something else.

This week's goal

By Monday (which is craft night again - hope to work on those baby announcements... me and my sewing machine) my goal is to have the craft room cleaned up and ready for some serious crafting. I'd like to start out with 3 clean tables, everything in its place, and (hopefully) trash emptied and floor vacuumed. I haven't been down there much at all, with my scrapbooking goal finished, but I did do a LO yesterday and I would like to do another in the near future. I need to update my pregnancy album (yikes - 3 months behind!) and purge some of my supplies - either use them or lose them. On the plus side, it's been nice not to feel the pressure to be down there every minute to accomplish my goal. But now I need to start setting new goals. Goals keep me going. And these days, with as much effort as it takes just to move my round, 9-month pregnant body to the craft room in the basement, I need as much motivation as I can get.

So, Craft Room, here I come! You will be clean and sparkly in a week!

Garage Sale Jackpot

Someone was having a garage sale a few houses down and it has been buzzing all morning, so I decided to walk down and see what was going on. Wow! I wish I'd been there when they first opened! They had lots of children's books and children's clothes (don't really need any more of them right now, but they had a lot for cheap) and... STAMPIN' UP SETS for cheap! I got...

Christmas Peace ($2)
Just for Fun (Sell-a-bration unopened - $3)
Baby Firsts ($2 - love this set!)
Sweet Sentiments ($1)
Mini Corners ($.50)
Simply Seasonal ($2)

6 complete sets, many still unmounted, for $10.50. Not bad if I say so myself! Now... where to put them...

Lost Steam

Well, It's been a week and I haven't completed a single LO. I just ran out of steam. No interest. No motivation. No ideas.

On the upside, I've been getting all the baby stuff organized - the clothes are all washed and in the closet and we purchased the last piece of nursery furniture today. And that's a good thing. As of Tuesday we will be 4 weeks from the due date... and I'm starting to freak out. So much to do. Time is running out.

Craft Night is tomorrow at the Children's Museum. I was hoping to work on my baby announcements, but I might bring those 3 LO and force myself to do them. Then I'd be done.

Downtown Shopping

I love Bozeman. And today, I got to visit my favorite shops. I think these shops are my favorites because they feed the inner martha. The top of today's list? Definitely fancyflours. I mean, really - how many other cake decorating stores will wrap your sprinkles and food coloring in tissue paper and a cool bag? They get my vote today.

170 Layouts to 2peas!

Just uploaded more LO to 2ps and realized that I have now posted 170 layouts total and done 63 layouts (not counting making 3 blank 8x8 baby albums or finishing our Alaska album) in the last month, since starting this blog on May 4. That's hard to believe.

Favorite LO from this week...

Work Work Work.

Layout of the work Leif and others have done on our basement - now that we're almost finished with it, it's great to be able to look back at all of the work that has gone into this project. This LO was also a challenge for May with Tam - to use 3 different fonts in a LO title. I also used foil tape, drywall tape, and washers from the hardware store on this one - added to the construction effect, I thought.

In a moment our lives were turned
UPSIDEDOWN

This is a simple LO I scraplifted from one of the magazines I was reading a while back. I liked the wavy paper segment stitched onto the page. There's a journaling tag under the photo that just has a bunch of words describing the feelings and emotions we went through when we found out we were expecting our first baby. Because of the lighting in the room the photo turned out really yellow - I thought about fixing it in photoshop, but decided to use it to my advantage in the color scheme of the LO - and I really like how it turned out!

One Day... Older

My 26th birthday was a difficult one. It's when I went from being closer to 20 to closer to 30. That's what this LO is about. The first picture was taken on the night of the 20th, my last night as a 25 year old. The second photo was taken as I was getting ready for work on my 26th birthday.

150th LO posted to 2ps!

This is the 150th LO I've posted to 2ps! Not bad for my first year as a member.

Making Progress...

I think I have 20 LO to go before I've met my goal! AND... since Saturday (when Tam was here) I've completed 15 LO, so I'm pretty sure I should be able to get these last 20 done in no time. Yippee!
