Just a layout about the precious moments I have with my daughter. I love this photo of her tiny, newborn fingers holding on to her grandad's thumb. I used some Scenic Route, Theresa Collins, Graphic 45, and Prima for this one.

A Father's Love

I LOVE these pictures of Ellie and Leif. We were hiking around the river near our house and on the way back, she got tired. So Leif picked her up and carried her home, and she just laid her head on his shoulder the whole way. It was so sweet and I am so thankful for these pictures!

When I showed Eliana this page, she pointed to the feather and said, "I don't think that belongs there." When I asked why not, she told me very matter-of-factly that, "I think it belongs in my feather duster." And so it did! It fell out at some point and I swiped it, knowing it would be fun to use on a page. Ha ha! She caught me! I thought it went well with the outdoorsy theme, though...

This is a card Sheila asked me to put together as a fourth for my transparency card class this week. She really wanted me to use the file folder cut on the diagonal as a template and see what I could do with it. It's not my favorite card ever, but I am happy with how it turned out, especially working with someone else's idea, which I usually have a really hard time with. I love the other cards for the class Wednesday, but I don't have any pictures of those, so you'll just have to stop by the store to see them or use your imagination. They're transparency gatefold cards. =D

Masculine Cards from Scenic Route

I am really no good at making masculine cards. I don't know why, I'm just not. But I decided my stash needed a few more masculine cards, so while I was playing with my Scenic Route paper I made these two:



I think that first one is my favorite masculine card ever! At least that I've made so far... This particular sheet of paper lends itself well to masculine cards, and the stamp makes them nice for whatever occasion I need. Now I just need to stock up!

Scenic Route Love

I love Scenic Route. I think I've shared that before. More than anything I LOVE the scrap strip paper that have with just about every line. I can't pass by it without getting some for cards. Well, one of the last times I was at the LSS I picked up this sheet from the Grafton line:

I had so much fun with it! These papers make it SO easy to whip out cards in no time! Here are four of the ones I made up the other day, and I'll have two more from the same set to show you tomorrow. I used a stamp from this Inkadinkado stamp set:

I love the stamp because it means I can make up cards in advance and just check off what the occasion is when I go to use the card! It makes stockpiling cards a little easier.

Enjoy the Journey

It's been a while since I've made a paper bag album, but when I was trying to think of a project for June's Mom and Me class I decided a PBA might just be the way to go. So, with the open house on Saturday, I settled in at the scrapbooking store on Friday to start the project.


One of the things I love about PBA's is just how quickly they go. The whole project took less than two hours, from the time I walked in the door, two paper bags in hand, to the time I walked out with a finished book, including the photos. I hadn't chosen the paper, photos, or even the scheme until I got there, and it all just came together nicely.



It's supposed to be a Summer / Travel themed PBA, and I used the travel strip paper from Scenic Route. You know how much I love these strip papers for cards? Well I love them for PBA's, too. There's just so much variety on one sheet of paper, it's hard not to love what you can do with it! I paired it with a black and white number paper from another Scenic Route line. I think they go nicely together.

I didn't really have any good summer or travel pictures I wanted to use in the album, but I DID have the pictures I took in June 2006 of my favorite shops in downtown Bozeman. I love going downtown in the summer and looking at all the fun shops, with all their textures and colors and inspiration. I love settling in to a coffee shop to sit and read or just enjoy a drink. I don't get to do that very often now that I have a toddler, but when I want to get away, that is what I do.

So this is my book about places in Bozeman I love to travel to, discover new ideas, and enjoy the journey that I am on. I figure if you want to see the world, you might as well start at home.
