Sketch Challenge

Well, it's missing the journaling, but here is my submission for last week's variation on a sketch. I actually like this sketch and think I'll do some more things with it. It's fun! If you made something with either sketch, don't forget to post a link so I can see it!

*GASP* I nearly forgot it was Tuesday!

But I didn't forget, and I do have a Variations on a Sketch for you this week! This time I'm going to do something a little different from other months and I'm going to give you a couple sketches to choose from - from someone else! Lately I've been reading Donna Downey's A Photos-First Approach to Designing Layouts and I've become enthralled with her sketches! So I did a little digging online and found that she posted two sketches to pencillines.com so I'm challenging you this week to make something using her sketches! Here they are! I can't wait to see what you come up with... play a bit and make a layout, mini album, or card, then leave me a link showing me what you put together!

busy busy busy

Whew! I have been busy, busy, busy the last couple weeks, most recently I have spent two days at Taylor's house helping her with the new twins. That has kept me away from the computer. So you might have noticed there was no Variations on a Sketch posted yesterday. I thought about coming up with one quick and posting it today, but decided not to stress about it and just let it go this week. My to-do list has been growing and I don't need to add one more thing to it. Friday I am going to scrap and I need to use that day to make all my class samples for the next schedule at KBD. Until I get that done I can't do any other scrapping. That is first priority right now. Hopefully I can get it all done on Friday so I can continue with the regularly scheduled programming. Thank you.

Variations on a Sketch #3 layout...

Here's what I did with the grid pattern. What did you do? I'd still like to do some cards using the sketch, but for now this is it. The pictures are from Ellie's first Christmas. Come to think of it, I don't even know that I've printed the pictures from this Christmas yet. Some other time, I guess. I do like how this layout turned out, though, especially since I was struggling with how to use these papers and how to scrap the less-than-stellar pictures we got that year. I loved the pictures of Ellie here, but none of them were good focal images. But this design worked well for them! I used my Sweet Pea Scraps December kit and added a few flowers to it.

Variations on a Sketch 3

It's time for Variations on a Sketch again! Hard to believe it's March already. But it is, so here's your sketch!! Let's see what you can do with a 4x4 grid....

I'll be back a little later with my projects using this sketch, but here are a few variations to get you started. Use these to create layouts, cards, mini albums - whatever your mind can concoct!

Don't forget to link back so I can see what you did with the sketch!!

Another Variations #2 Project

My 3rd project for this week's Variations on a Sketch. I used my Sweet Pea Scraps December kit for this layout about Ellie at 5 months. I had a lot of fun playing with some techniques I hadn't tried before, as well as a couple new ink pads, and even a stamp I've had for a while and never used! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and have to say this is one of my favorite sketches so far!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! - Variations on a Sketch #1

Here is the first of what I hope will be a series of My Inner Martha sketches for this year. I'm calling it variations on a sketch and giving you two or three variations of the same sketch, modified for single and double page layouts.

So here she is, ladies and gentlemen.... MIM Sketch #1:

Variation A:

Variation B:

Variation C:

And my take on the sketch:

Now... have fun and play with it! Because this sketch is adaptable to 12x12 or 8.5x11, single or multiple photo, and double or single page layouts, you should be able to find some way to use it! When you're finished, leave me a link in the comments so I can come see! Happy scrapping!
