Accordion Album Love...

I sort of find it amusing that the items I love the most in my Etsy shop are rarely the ones that sell. What does that say about me? Take this one for example...

Butterfly Accordion Album

This might be my all time favorite accordion album tin. Butterflies. Velvet ric-rack. Acetate galore. Pockets for notes or pictures... I love it! But the listing will expire in a week and it will go homeless, unloved. What's up with that?

Butterfly Accordion Album

Do I just tend to like and make things that are difficult to accurately photograph? Does it really just look that much better in person that I fell in love with it and can't convey what it looks like through pictures? Do people just not know what to do with accordion albums? I guess if this one goes unloved I'll have to fill it with my own pictures (provided I ever find the time!) so people can see what you do with them. And so I can finally be a good mom and carry pictures of my daughter with me!! Someone asked what she looked like this week and all I had was a lousy cell phone picture. I really need to carry pictures of her!

Cards with scraps...

A while back I decided to use up the scraps in one of my SPS kits. I also had some DCWV cards that I had and decided to use up... the results are simple, but sometimes simple is good. I put some of them up in my etsy shop just to see if simple cards are what people are looking for (still trying to find my niche... I think I've got an idea I haven't seen from anyone else, but those will have to wait until the September release, provided I get them finished. Worked on them some more last night, so hopefully they'll be done pretty soon. I'm down to the embellishment phase, which is the most fun. Also the most time consuming...) but here's a look at what I did with my scraps:

So it's not new craftiness, but unless you check my etsy store, it's new to you! =D I'll see if I can't dig up a few more new things to share with you (I'm pretty sure I've got some layouts I just haven't taken pictures of yet) until I actually get to my own crafting again. In the meantime, enjoy the cards!

Valentine's Day Cards...

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I wanted to share some card sets I made a while back. I actually had these made for the craft show back in October, but am just now getting them up.

The first card set is my favorite. The paper comes from RoShamBo, my favorite paperie! I don't get in there too often, but when I do it is MARVELOUS. I could waste an entire afternoon in there, just browsing through all of the wonderful things. I used some shimmery spray from LuminArte on the flower to give it some "glow" and I centered it with a "love" embossed brad. The bottom front edge is scalloped, punched with my Fiskars embossing border punch.

This second card set is Rhonna Farrer all the way! The felt ribbon is from her Christmas line and the "love" stamp is also hers, both through Autumn Leaves. The sentiment is covered in red glitter, and the felt border is also accented with glitter.

Both of these cards come in sets of 4 and are up on Wickland Papercrafts in time for Valentine's Day!

Okay... off to work on cleaning my craft room some more. Once it's finished we'll all celebrate with a giveaway!! So cheer me on...

New Items!!

I've got some new items up in my etsy store! It's been a while, so I'm getting some Valentine's day stuff listed. There will be card sets soon, but these are up now and a new item altogether for me:

I made them for the craft fair in October and then never got around to listing them on etsy until now. I thought the pink ones were good for Valentine's Day and the blue and green one is just, well, fun! I'm hoping to get the cards and other notebooks listed soon. In the meantime, these are the newbies!!

Fun Magnets!

I've seen lots of people making cute glass gem magnets on etsy. So I started making some too, just for fun. But then my magnets weren't cooperating with the not-perfectly-circular gems, so I went back to making my ribbon flowers and came up with a whole new idea - Flower Magnets!! So I've been having fun making these cute magnets and packaging them up for etsy and my upcoming craft fair.

And I promise... one of these days I will post something without talking about etsy. I promise.

First Sale.... and more!

Last night, sometime during craft night, someone decided to buy one of my ribbon flowers on etsy!! I was SO excited!! So I was going to post on MIM about how excited I was to have sold something so quickly after posting items. But, I was tired and decided I'd post my excitement today. But with today came another email saying... someone else had bought 3 more things!!! SO I hurried up and peeled myself off the ceiling, then ran down to the craft room to collect the items, personalize the tins, print out receipts, bundle everything together and head off to the post office.

So now I'm posting to say that I've officially sold and mailed 4 items! Yipppeeee!

Updated my ETSY!!

Well, I've been crafting like a madwoman for this craft fair in October, but I decided to put some of the things up on my Etsy, too, in hopes that I might get a little more ambitious about my store. I've just got a few things in there now, but will be adding more over the next few days. Right now I've got some card sets and accordion album tins up. Take a look - what do you think?

ETA: I also added more paper bag albums, accordion album tins, and some ribbon flowers! I've got 25 items in the gallery right now and will be putting more in there once I figure out what will interest people. Let me know if you have ideas!

Eeeeeeek!!!!

That's an excited eeeek, if you can't tell. You see, I'M GOING TO SELL MY CRAFTS AT A CRAFT FAIR!!!! I'm so excited. I was literally bouncing with excitement earlier today, as my mother (from the other end of the phone) can attest. I've looked into craft fairs before and have been discouraged by $125+ entry fees. That was more than I wanted to invest for my first dip in the craft fair pool. But as I was researching fall activities (such as corn mazes), I came across this place having a one-day craft fair. It's October 27 (mark your calendars!!) and they still had space available, so I called them up to get some details. It's a $25 entry fee, with unlimited space - you just have to bring your own table. WOW! So I signed up. I'm so excited. So, so excited.

Etsy Shop

I've been looking to sell some of my crafty things lately, so I started an Etsy shop. For those of you who are not familiar with Etsy, it's an online shop where you can buy handcrafted items. I don't have much on there right now, but will be adding stuff as I have time to post it. I'm not sure if anyone will be interested in it, but I decided to take the plunge and go for it anyway.

Check it out - it's at elizabethwickland.etsy.com
